Little Bear Feet
Little bear feet classes are a parent/grand parent/guardian and child enjoying a playful introduction to movement and music with Melody Bear with story time at the end. Little Bear feet classes are 30 minutes in duration.
Ballet tots is aimed at children aged two and three and is a playful introduction to a ballet class. Ballet tots follow the melody bear syllabus where melody bears stories and adventures inspire dance and movement ideas. Ballet tots classes are 30 minutes in duration
First Ballet and Tip Tap Toe
First ballet and tip tap toe is aimed at children aged three to five. It is a development of the basic ballet introduction in ballet tots where a little more structure is introduced but the exercises are still based around playful stories. Tip tap toe is the first introduction to tap where rhythm, tempo sound and beats are explored in fun and playful exercises. First ballet and tip tap toe classes are 45 minutes in duration (approx 25 mins ballet 20 mins tap)
RAD Ballet Syllabus
JPJ School of Dance offers ballet classes following the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) ballet syllabus. The RAD offers an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments from age five. Children progress from pre-primary and primary to eight graded levels or six vocational graded levels.
ISTD Tap and Modern Theatre Syllabus
JPJ School of Dance offers tap and modern theatre classes following the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) syllabus. Both tap and modern theatre are rhythmic dance styles that originated in America, but are now more often seen on the stages of musical productions. The ISTD syllabus offers children the opportunity to take internationally recognised graded examinations from age five up to professional teaching qualifications.
This is a fun informal class that works on developing confidence, rhythm, strength and the students individual style. There is not an examination structure or syllabus followed in this genre but it is a very popular fun class.
This a fun informal class where students cover elements of drama, song and performance skills. As students develop confidence there are opportunities to perform throughout the year and in addition workshops held by industry professionals.
JPJ School of Dance offers Zumba fitness classes for adults. Zumba is a latin inspired easy-to-follow calorie burning, dance fitness party! Our Zumba classes are renowned for being fantastic fun and very energetic! Everyone is welcome to come and have a go!
Ballet fit is a 45 minute adult class . it's a fun ballet based exercise class which uses ballet technique for body conditioning.
